The Department of Pharmacy was established in the year 2012 with M. Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Ph. D. programmes with an aim to impart quality education in the relevant field and professionally train the students. On similar fronts, Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics was also started in the year 2017. Both the post-graduate programmes are duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The Department has the dedication to excel in the pharmaceutical research and education domains. The pass outs have been successfully placed in various government organizations and industrial houses, just after their course completion. 

M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics

Master of Pharmacy programme at the Department of Pharmacy, Central University of Rajasthan was started after various rounds of meetings with the renowned academicians and researchers in the domain. The programme, since its inception, inculcated the elements of up to date knowledge, appropriate laboratory training and the competitiveness in the pharmaceutical technology field. The students are trained well in the sought after fields of Quality-by-Design (QbD), Pharmacokinetics, Drug Delivery, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Analysis, apart from the routine courses. The Department has well-equipped laboratories for the programme and the admission in the programme is through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Preference is given to the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) qualified candidates.     

M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Among the many branches in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry can be regarded as the important basic streams of Pharmacy. However, unlike other basic sciences, these programmes have appeared as interdependent scientific offshoots amalgamating the principles of various scientific domains.  These courses provides pharmacy students with a comprehensive understanding of the mechanism of drug action, the relationship between the structure of drugs and the differences in activity which is referred to as QSAR, the relationship between physicochemical properties of drugs and its impact on activity, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET), and the formulation aspects.  An understanding of the chemical basis of drug action coupled with understanding of its pharmacokinetics gives pharmacy students the ability to answer rationally the “why” and “how” of drug action and to modulate the activity by fine-tuning various attributes of the drugs.  This knowledge puts the pharmacist in a unique position among the various health care professionals.  By imparting an exclusive knowledge base, the courses offered to play a vital role in providing critical thinking and evidence-based problem-solving skills to pharmacy students, enabling them to make optimal decisions in this area of pharmacy.  Preference is given to the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) qualified candidates.     

Doctor of Philosophy

The Department of Pharmacy, Central University of Rajasthan is offering Doctor of Philosophy programme since its inception. After qualifying the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET), M. Pharm. pass out students can opt for the research in the department, based on their research and the research profiles of the faculty members of the department.
